Several Things This Week #3

October 09, 2024

Week three of putting together a list of random tabs from the last week. I have not yet decided whether to try to keep doing these weekly on a specific day, or whether I should just wait until I have enough tabs to write about. Time will tell. Without further ado, here are several things from this week.

Severance is out on Blu-Ray

Severance season 1 is out on Blu-Ray, and you can get it here. I absolutely loved season 1 when it came out, and it is a top notch delivery from Apple. I am stoked for season 2, so being able to purchase Blu-Ray of the first season for all that 4K replay goodness is very enticing. If you like slow-burn mystery/thriller/sci-fi, this show is for you. Gives me similar vibes to the game Control, but not quite so strange, yet.

Every Day Armor

I did not know that you could get clothing inspired by classical suits of armor, nor did I know just how cool it would be. Lorica Clothing makes all sorts of clothing options, such as leggings, shirts, hoodies, etc. all inspired by the kingdoms of yore.

Leaf Fall Down

It’s Fall in the United States, or Autumn if you’re fancy. This website lets you track when the leaves will change colors across the U.S. You can even set it to estimate the peak color day for a specific town, if you want to get those prime photoshoot colors on your fall road trip.

Remind Me Later

A short and poignant comic about the prevalence of pop-ups, reminders, and changing terms of use. I know the point of the terms is legally so that both parties know what to expect, and to set guidelines for behavior and interactions, but with so many changing terms and conditions, it is a wonder that we don’t sign all of our rights away without even thinking about it. Maybe secretly some streaming service now legally owns my dog because I signed up for a free trial. Who knows!

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

That book is still sitting in my to-read list unfortunately. However, Blade Runner, which was inspired by it is excellent. No, I have not seen the original movie, so why am I even bringing up the 9 Synth Cover of Rachel? Because it’s cool, obviously. I have so far only seen Blade Runner 2049, which also has an excellent soundtrack, but I admit I have some homework to do in the Blade-Runner-Verse.
